The 3rd Armored units not participating in the assault on Hastenrath and Werth areas beginning on 16 November were used in a fire support capacity. Here, outside Breinig, Germany, tanks of the 32nd Armored Regiment fire in support of their comrades in the 33rd Armored Regiment.

In addition to tank fire support, field artillery units also participated in the bombardments of 16 November. Here in Mausbach a battery supplied with rockets prepares to fire in support of the 3rd Armored advance.
